Changing Lives To Change The World

That was the theme this year at National Convention. (If you follow that link you can watch the live recording from the sessions. I don't know how long they will be up, but I really recommend Tuesday evening. They were all awesome!)

TeenPact's goal is to effect the lives of this generation, so we can make a difference in our society; therefore, the reasoning behind the theme.

Day 1: Change starts here. They talked about change starting with ourselves and we have to change first before we can change others. It is so true and everything they had to say was encouraging. (This was Tuesday and the message that night was great. Aaron spoke and challenged us with questions like: Do we live as if were longing to be with our Savior? Would we be okay to go to a Heaven and have everything we wanted but Jesus not be there. He used a quote from John Piper and now I want to go read his books. Honestly, it makes me uncomfortable to think that people would actually be okay with that, but sadly it is true.)

Day 2: A Heart For Change. On Wednesday it was focused on our heart. Chad Warren spoke both morning and evening sessions. The big topic he covered was about us having idols in our life...from t.v. to making going to church an idol. Extremely good message!

Day 3: Effecting Social Change. Thursday we learned about being salt and light (Matthew 5).

Day 4: Eternal Change. It was just the same as it sounds. I really encourage you to listen to the messages because me explaining it will not do it justice. =)

That is brief overview of what I learned this past week! We did lots of other fun activities too...small groups (we discussed what we had learned and did group competitions the last couple of days), Men at work with Will and Zach (a cooking show with two of the interns :P), afternoon news ("weather" report and "news" about events going on at National Convention), elections (This is a big part of NC. People run for president, vice president, senator, and representatives. They campaign and we run elections similar to presidential elections in the US.), and free time!

I had an awesome week and am grateful to everyone who made it possible!

I can't wait to see all my friends who were not able to be a part of TeenPact this year!

P.S. If you want to see pictures, check out facebook. =)
