Psalm 125

1 Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion,
which cannot be shaken but endures forever.

2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the LORD surrounds his people
both now and forevermore.

3 The scepter of the wicked will not remain
over the land allotted to the righteous,
for then the righteous might use
their hands to do evil.

4 Do good, O LORD, to those who are good,
to those who are upright in heart.

5 But those who turn to crooked ways
the LORD will banish with the evildoers.
Peace be upon Israel.

These verses have been so refreshing to me lately. When I feel like my faith is drying up and I can no longer stand because the world is throwing so much at me the first verse reminds me to keep trusting because I will not be torn down. As I have been trusting in the Lord to heal, restore, and guide I feel sometimes like it will never end, but that is when I remember that I will NOT be shaken. I may sit and wait for it all to end and my life to be easy but God didn't say it would be easy. It is actually quite the opposite. John 16:33 says "...In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." See? We will have struggles, but Jesus has overcome them. We can walk in faith proclaiming life and truth knowing that what Jesus did was enough for us to not to worry or be weary.

The Lord will hold me up, surround me with peace, and do good to me. God is good.

  1. I know you posted this like 46 days ago but that verse, John 16:33, as been brought up to me like three times now in the past three days. It is just an awesome scripture and it reminds me of what God told me at camp over the summer. "Do not worry, I have overcome the world." This scripute has been continuously brought up to me. I now know that God is reinforcing it and reminding me, do not worry. Thanks for posting this.
