Forever Reign

"The joy of God is your Strength."

Nehemiah 8:10

Nothing else. So I can always have strength.

"In Your presence there is fullness of joy."

Psalm 16:11

Get in His presence, feel His joy, and you will be strengthened.

It's a promise.

I can always have joy. Always.

Even when there is nothing good in me and my circumstances seem dim, He is good and He is still on the throne. He never changes based on my circumstances - why should I?

His strength is mine.

He is my source of life and joy.

And if He is my life source for all these things, I will always have them because He always does.

God started teaching this to me at camp through these two songs:

You are joy, You are joy. You're the reason that I sing.

I didn't understand how I could still sing when I felt so dry, but I did. Then God continued to speak and revealed me to the reason that I sing. It has nothing to do with me or what I am feeling. It's all about Him and He always deserves to be praised. Therefore I can always sing. I can always be full of joy. Because He is the reason that I sing. And He is joy.
